Simple elegance in a large frame
For the Danube Waltz, danced in the large gallery of Schönbrunn Palace, elegant evening dresses for the ladies and modern tuxedos for the gentlemen were conceived. The colour gradient in women's dresses from lilac to mother-of-pearl is based on the Baroque ceiling fresco of the Great Gallery of the Palace. For the choreographer, Christian Tichy, the greatest possible lightness of the clothes was important, so that every dance movement is reflected in the dress. This lightness was achieved by using several layers of silk-satin organza. This enables large volume and airiness. An embroidery with many movable sequins provides for the shine of the dresses. The elaborate embroidery was developed with the Vorarlberg embroidery company Hämmerle & Vogel especially for these dresses. A long three-piece tuxedo was developed for men.
