Floral lightness amid baroque garden splendor.
Light, summery costumes were designed for the Dynamiden Waltz, reflecting the floral textile decor of the filming location, Schloss Hof, and above all the vibrant colors of the park grounds.
A color was chosen for each dance couple from the variety of flowers. The light silk muslin dresses stylistically draw on Empire and early Biedermeier forms—a romantic style favored in classical ballet.
The dresses were hand-painted with various floral tendrils. The designs were inspired by Maria Theresa’s bed at Schloss Hof. For the gentlemen, matching floral embroidery was chosen for the vests.
