"Museum - a theatrical space"
Among my overall artistic performances, I develop design concepts for museums and exhibitions, as well as installations within exhibitions. In that sense, I consider museums as theatrical spaces. In a theatre and in a museum stories and history are being told. These are the places of presentation and representation. The task of a scenic designer, as well as the responsibility of an interior designer, is to transform content into shape and therefore create a narrative space. On stage the protagonists are singers, actors or dancers; in a museum it is the exhibited objects. Acts and exhibits want to be and must be put into perspective! The spaces have the task to provide their desired aura, more specifically to support them so they can develop their own aura. In that way, the play between object and observer can begin, the objects can tell their stories and the observer can leave the museum enriched.
