2013 marks the 200th anniversary of Richard Wagner’s birth. To kick off the anniversary year, the Austrian National Library is presenting the exhibition *Loved, Laughed At, Idolized: Richard Wagner and the Viennese* in the Prunksaal. On November 22, 2012, Director General Johanna Rachinger, curator Thomas Leibnitz, and Clemens Hellsberg, chairman of the Vienna Philharmonic, officially opened the major exhibition honoring the popular yet controversial composer.
